Royal Caribbean Cruises

FREEDOM OF THE SEAS

When launched in 2006, Freedom of the Seas was the biggest, most innovative and exciting ship to be introduced into the world cruise market – and the first in a series of three vessels.

About the project

For this ship, ICArt envisioned a unifying and exciting concept that was just as significant; Back to basics - the four basic elements that compose the universe: Earth, Fire, Water & Air as the basis of everything that we are, we see and we do.

ICArt carefully selected art and artists who explore and add layers of meaning to the basic elements. Throughout the ship, one can see artworks that represents this approach within a wide variety of artist’s creative interpretations; the artwork presented is elemental, unique and memorable.
