When launched in 2006, Freedom of the Seas was the biggest, most innovative and exciting ship to be introduced into the world cruise market – and the first in a series of three vessels.

About the project

Hapag Lloyd Cruises' longstanding commitment to fine art as an important part of a unique, stimulating, and memorable stay onboard is evident on their ships. Continuing the tradition of elegance and luxury, Europa 2 carries a collection of significant and exquisite artworks.

The art collection on Europa 2 includes artwork by Gerhard Richter, Ólafur Elíasson, David Hockney, Damien Hirst, Adam Fuss and Hans Hartung, as well as important works by Jeppe Hein, Georg Küttinger, Ingrid von Kruse, Eva Hild and Minjung Kim.
