Viking Sky

All travelers, no matter how far their journey, like to remember where they came from. That is why the art onboard the explorer ship Viking Sky is an ode to the Nordic heritage.

Working very closely together with Viking Cruises our team carefully selected a diverse spectrum of work by established and up-and-coming artists. Most of the artists are Norwegian, a natural choice for the Norwegian company. The art complements and enhances the light-filled, Nordic-influenced interiors of the Viking Sky.

Throughout the ship guests are invited to enjoy pieces that encompass a variety of media and approaches - from digital to print, from oil paintings to photography and sculpture. The art has been hand-picked for the depth with which it reflects the Northern origins. The magnificent beauty of Northern nature is also carefully mirrored throughout the entire collection.

Onboard one can view original artwork by masters such as Edvard Munch, Harald Sohlberg and Jakob Weideman. The journeys of legendary polar explorer Fridtjof Nansen are thoughtfully exhibited through the range of portraits, maps and books that celebrate his life, creating an exciting showcase to enjoy while traveling.

The result of the art-concept onboard the Viking Sky is an aesthetic celebration of the traveler as collector of ideas and experiences. A tradition that dates back to long before the Vikings.
